What about Sunday?

“Is there a bottle -tree?
No! But when you place a bottle on a tree, it is a bottle-tree.”
This publication tells us a story about two children talking about trees. It is a story about naming and imagination that brings us into the absurd and wonderful world of literalness.

Ausgabe#

Ausgabe# has been released since June 2011 as a personal magazine by the artist Max Leiß. Each of the issues includes various graphical elements like prints, photographs, copies or text fragments, which document the artistic work process. These elements build up an increasing inventory of forms that can be used as a vocabulary for the following issues. By this Ausgabe# is a visual thinking- and experimental field, which aim is to order, connect and recombine ideas and thoughts.

The Education Program for Afghanistan of the University of Nebraska in Omaha published the books since the beginning of the 1980s with a 50 million dollar grant from United States Agency for International Development during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. For the mujahidin, who were fighting against the Sowiets, the schoolbooks were a medium to spread political propaganda and to prepare a new generation of holy warriors with the ideas of a militant islamism for the fight against the
